STOP PRESS! This Sunday 29 November 2009, the Winchester in Bournemouth plays host to Azhaar Safaar. Azhar is best known as the vocalist with one of the UK's leading Brazilian bands, Sirius B, but the quartet gives her the chance to explore her love of jazz. Support one of our local venues in promoting jazz. They also have the wonderful ACOUSTIC LADYLAND coming on 5 December, another must see. Links below. NB. Bournemouth Modern Jazz Club is Bournemouth's only club promoting the most exciting, cutting-edge jazz and related musics from across the UK. An independent, non-profit making society, our mission is to promote the finest contemporary music in a relaxed, informal setting. Established in 2004, past gigs have included GrupoX, Dave O'Higgins Quintet, Geoff Eales Trio, Robin Jones' Latin Jazz Sextet, Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, Ben Castle, Jean Toussaint, Tina May Quartet, Anita Wardell Quartet, Atlantico, Martin Shaw, Karen Sharp Quartet, Simon Spillett, AMBULANCE, Soothsayers, Jason Rebello Trio and many more...
